Digitial Calligraffiti is an urban intervention aimed at giving a voice and platform to refugees in Berlin. The city has a huge population of refugees who've migrated mostly from Europe, Africa, Middle East and South Asia. Many of them struggle with adapting to a new culture, language, employment and feeling a sense of belonging.

By using their native language, they inscribed messages of love, togetherness and inclusivity on public walls. Through their words and the action of writing, they were able to symbolically make a place in the new city. The project was led by Calligraffiti artists from around the world who trained refugees in the art of calligraphy.

As a part of this, I converted the refugees’ live actions into small ad films and designed a logo for the campaign. These films further spread messages in U-bahn (underground) stations and on building facades. Alongside this, I also conducted T-shirt printing workshop with refugees. They selected and converted their favourite Calligraffiti messages into prints and learnt how to use the transferpress.
